No way to breathe easy, no time to be young

I’ve been very busy but very good. Reading a lot. Reading has been very important to me. De La Soul was amazing, as predicted. We were right up at the front. Saw the Gerhard Richter exhibition at the National Gallery. It was okay. I was hoping Nude Descending the Staircase would be there, but twas not. I got a letter from Kyle in the mail - its so lovely getting snail mail! Watching the first season of the OC has turned into an unhealthy addiction (as well as a drinking game) for the lot of us this past week. Saturday a bunch of us are going to Glasgow to do some shopping. Not that I need to. I’ve bought an entire wardrobe here. Topshop is addictive and way too easy. The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle is amaaaaazing. I’m nearly finished. I would kill for some sushi, saganaki, donburi, a club sandwich from Rebel House and some gnocchi. BYE. TTYL.

One night at dinner, Shamma, Marie and I did some people watching and we’ve coined a new style that is taking over our uni: the trust-fund-hobo. He wears a sheepskin jacket like it’s 1974, his Brooks Brothers oxford is wrinkled, his cashmere crewneck is soft yet ratty and most telling of all: his hair is stylishly greasy, long and parted at the side as if he was one of the original members of the Lords of Dogtown. He’ll say things like, “See you at Opal Lounge” with a wink and a kiss and all I can say is douchechill!!!

Oh, I’m seeing De La Soul tomorrow - should be kind of brilliant.

just some things

Sawako video for uta tane, rabbit fur coats and Hammershoi paintings have been my aesthetic for the past while now. I’m really looking for a fur coat. I found one that I love for a reasonable price (considering its fur) however, it’s sold out in my size. I need glasses - I couldn’t read the PowerPoint on Monday. I’m going to try to pry myself away from my essays sometime this week to see the Gerhard Richter exhibition at the National Gallery. My oatmeal coloured cashmere sweater has replaced my navy and white striped shirt as the top I wear everyday. I’m in the middle of The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle but I haven’t had the time to read recently. I’ve been flipping through John Berger’s Ways of Seeing when I don’t feel like reading fiction. I miss sushi and green tea, my vulgar friends and my polaroids that I left at home.

you look so sweet you need some of my trick or treatz

Probably the best Halloween yet. So scary. So fantastic. These flats were decorated like no other. I can’t even explain. It was the first time I used my Minilux with black and white film. The black and white turned out brilliantly!
